Location: 130 E Pender Street, Vancouver
Before the original location burnt down, this was the go-to place for me to buy my BBQ meats like BBQ pork, BBQ crispy pork, and soy chicken. I also came here to have their congee and noodles. After the fire, they have simplified their menu to mainly BBQ platters. It’s sad that they don’t have the original congees and noodles but i’m glad their back.
If you like crispy pork, this is the place to get it. Made fresh daily and even fresher if you show up at 11am. This place brings back so many memories of eating out of a styrofoam box in Hong Kong when I was little. If you enjoy Chinese food and you’re not afraid of fatty meats, Chinatown Barbecue is one of the better casual places to dine. Some days they have winter melon soup and if it’s available, order it, cause it’s fantastic.
Rating 5/5 for all the nostalgia and feels
