Location: 4265 Main St Vancouver, BC
I recently heard about this new establishment called Yugo Restaurant on Main St. I was supposed to go for lunch earlier on in the week but I caught the norovirus. Luckily, I got my appetite back and decided to go on a special date here.
We ordered the assorted sashimi which was pre-sauced with a ponzu type soy. Not sure if I enjoy my sashimi pre-sauced.
Next we ordered the King Salmon Aburi, it was good but we've had better. For the price, I would say Miku is definitely better.
We ordered the Scallops Risotto and it was really good! Really creamy and the scallops were done to perfection. Highly recommend this dish but share it cause it's heavy.
Lastly, we had the sakura roll - Spicy Tuna Tempura, Cucumber, Avocado, Tuna Tataki, Daikon Sprouts, Green Onion. It was good, nicely presented. The sauce in the spoon was really good.
Finally we ordered a sakura cheese cake to go. The green tea crumble and the cherry blossom jelly was the highlight of that dish.
Overall the service was good, the only blemish was that they put us at the bar even though we made reservations. Overall the experience was good, not overly expensive.
