We were looking to make an impression on an out of towner and Anh and Chi was a place I've wanted to go to. Repeat award winning, this was a no brainer decision.
Immediate impression, the decor of this place is so pleasing to my eyes. Thankfully it was the snow day so the restaurant wasn't super packed. We were asked if we wanted sparkling or still water, we chose still. It was cucumber water, so refreshing to my pallet.
They also have some awesome beers on tap if you're into the micro-brewery scene.
We ordered the following:
Cơm Chiên - Fried rice with beef with a fried egg
Bún Thịt Nướng Chả Giò Tôm - Vermicelli bowl - Served with grilled whole prawn and crispy spring rolls over a bed of greens, mixed herbs & chili fish sauce. We chose pork.
Khay Bánh Hỏi Lụi Nướng – DIY Street-Side Platter
House-made pork sausage, beef in betel leaf, grilled chicken, crispy fried spring roll & grilled prawn. Served with fresh lettuce, mixed herbs, pickled carrots and daikon, fine rice vermicelli, rice paper and chili fish sauce.
I could go into detail about how this all tasted but one simple sentence would round it up. This is by far, the greatest Vietnamese meal I have ever had in my life.
Everything tasted so fresh with multiple layers of flavours. This meal made me feel things. The experience alone of making your own spring roll is worth it. I wowed my out of town friend and I was equally as amazed. Definitely get chicken and pork skewers if you go though #amazing
