I'm currently in search of Vancouver's perfect sandwich.
Here is how I'm rating the sandwiches:
5 points scale with half points available
A. Bread - is it fresh, taste, texture, hardness, toasted?
B. The meat - how good is it? Does it work? Is it too salty?
C. The sauce - how does the sauce compliment everything? Does it all tie in together?
D. The veg - are you using quality veg, is there generous amounts? Does the veg work?
E. Breaking the jaw - how severe is this sandwich? How well is it constructed ?
The Top 5 sandwiches in my long term review will be contacted to be featured in my video.
Results for Forage
Double fried pork cutlet sandwich with thousand island sauce, gouda cheese, lettuce and a fried egg.
Bread - Toasted perfectly, not burnt, but nothing that stood out either - 3/5
Meat- The double fried pork cutlet felt like it should have been a pork belly. Missing the fat. 3/5
Sauce- Thousand island sauce but the cheese over powered the sauce so I ended up dipping my sandwich in the extra sauce 3.5/5
Veg - Lettuce 2/5
Breaking the Jaw- Not enough to break my jaw 3/5
Price - Sandwich is listed at $14
Overall score 14.5/25 - 58% - Please keep in mind this score does not represent the over experience at Forage.
The sandwich was ok, it wasn't amazing and for the price, it was an extra shot to the gut. Service was great and the food came promptly. It was pretty packed at 10am. Atmosphere was very classy and had a really high end feel.
