Location: 2850 Oxford Street, Port Coquitlam, BC
Meal: Dim Sum, the staples and then their specials such as the shredded jellyfish and chicken, and deep fried chicken wings.
Atmosphere: Interior has a more nostalgic vibe than traditional dim sum places you'd find in Richmond or Vancouver.
Service: We made a reservation because we had 7 people but the food came pretty quick. Before we ate, we were asked if it was ok if we were finished at 12:30PM (our reservation was at 11:00AM). That's a fair warning and I respected that.
Bottom line: The staples which are the Har Gao, Siu Mai, Chicken Feet, Meatballs, were all very good. No complaints here. The specials which are $6 something a dish included the Sichuan green beans, shredded jellyfish and chicken, and the deep fried chicken wings were exceptionally good.
I've been going to Rainbow Butterfly for about 7 years now and I can't say i've ever had a bad experience. They are consistent in delivering an awesome dim sum experience for the right price. If you ever want to give them a try on a weekend, I highly suggest that you call to make a reservation. Please check out the video below to have a closer look at the food we had for Breakfast Club.
Out the door price: Under $13 per person= $91 tip included
Repeat: Yes, I always do for Rainbow Butterfly.
