Location: Caffe Veroni - 219-4501 North Rd Burnaby, BC - It's seriously hidden, near the far end of the plaza.
Meal: One Long Black Coffee, no milk.
Atmosphere: It's a pretty small cafe, they have two units, one is where the coffee is made and the one next door is a more private room. There is also seating in the public area.
Service: William, the owner, seemed very knowledgeable with his craft and answered most of the questions I had for him.
Bottom line: I don't usually drink my coffee black but the only option he had was dairy. At that point I figured I'd give it a try and see what the difference was. First sip, I was shocked... it's nothing like what I'm used to at home or at Starbucks. The initial flavour is smooth and then the after taste is where you pick up the roast. The acidity is well balanced and not sour at all. If black coffee is like this, I would be able to drink black coffee all the time. Another way I saw this was is that it's like the equivalent of wine. I was utterly amazed and honestly, I've been thinking about that coffee all morning. William's strength is crafting the perfect cup of coffee and I really hope people check his place out.
Out the door price: My friend paid so I'm not sure the price, but it should be in my video below.
Repeat: Yes, definitely if I'm in the area. I wish it was closer.
